When changing the con rods make sure you note the off set pin to match the off set cyls. If assembled in the middle the pin could rub the sleeve.Earl

to remove the sleeves: first remove the pistons and the connecting rods. After this is done, aquire a suitable puller and pull the sleeves from the block. when replacing the sleeves, make sure there is no dirt or foriegn objects in the sealing area. Also make sure the sleeve does not extend any further than between .002-.004 above the block. If the sleeve extends any further than .004 water will leak through the head gasket. Use vasaline to lubricate the two seals to ensure the sleave will fit properly.
BEEN THERE DONE THAT! hope this helps and you get your dads tractor together before he gets back. If you have any further questions, feel free to E-mail me at "dirtdr_5

to pull the sleeves: remove the pistons and connecting rods, and then use a puller to pull the sleeves from the block. When you replace the old sleeves, make sure that there is no dirt or foriegn objects in the sealing surfaces of the block or the new sleeves. the top of the sleeve should not extend more than .002 to .004 above the Block. If it is any more than .004, water will be able to leak around the head gasket. Use some vasaline to lubricate the two sealing rings.
There ya go! If you have any more questions, feel free to E-mail me any time "dirtdr_58@yahoo.com"

If u are changing the pistons and sleeves and they are wet sleeves you can loosen the rod and hit under the piston with a block of wood. Most likely the ridge on the top of the sleeve will catch on the rings and it will push the whole thing right out
