there were a few choices in the engine at different times for this model yours should be a gas engine model G-176 there was also the model GB-176 which was the LP gas version and then finally a diesel engine model 4-A-203 . The gas engine was rated at 52 Hp @ 2000 engine rpm's. The LP gas engine 49Hp @ 2000 RPM's. The factory book says there is a 3% variences -this due to ratings done at sea level and must be reduced by that 3% for every 1000 ft above sea level because compression drops as altitude increase. But the good news is you can really do some pulling at the dead sea or in death valley . wow more horse power free. I know you will enjoy this beast a T0-30 and MF 65 owner.
any other specs needed let me know.

etshobby or anyone else: I just bought an old MF 65 that runs on LP. Does anyone have anykind of literature or diagrams on how this system works and what I need to adjust or fix if it breaks down. I bought a service manual for it but it doesn't say one thing about the lp system. Also, I read something today that said you start these tractors on vapor then switch to the liquid. I've been keeping it on vapor. Right now it runs fine on vapor but I'd like to know more about this system. Would someone e-mail me with information please?

tractortips.com might have the cat of lift info, at 50 hp it could be a cat 1 or 2.

You picked a good tractor to start on. That is a very handy machine. I had one but sold it and have regretted it since. Perfect for feeding round bales, drilling post holes, mowing, raking etc etc. A VERY good chore tractor. Best of luck with yours.
