I noticed recently my oil was a little bit "milky". I changed it and noticed a small amount of Green antifreeze come out of the oil pan. Obviously this is not normal..but I'm wondering how critical it is and what the casue / repair would be/. Thank you

Pretty darn critical. Sources generally are:
Depending on what your working on: Liner o-rings, oil cooler, cracked head, head gasket, water pump. Wtaer pump can only occur with a gear drive pump, or a pump with force fed lube. Externally mounted belt drives normally can't let water get to the oil. Does the engine white smoke when starting it after it's been shut down over night? If so then this tells you the coolant is getting into the combustion chamber somehow. if it's a gas engine, look at the spark plugs real close. A really clean spark plug is also an indicator of coolant. Simply not enough info to help you through this in detail.

If the engine has over head valves, it could also have a crack/pinhole in the head or a leaking head gasket.

Critacal - yes. Antifreeze will spell death to bearings.
Depends on where it is getting from the cooling system to the lube. Head gasket, maybe but if it has wet liners it may be the bottom seals. Other than that it could be a crack somewhere in the engine,May be, but unlikely, a leaking oil cooler line through the rad.
Not enough information on tractor type/model to help further, but if you just bought it, the vendor possibly sold it for that very reason. Has it got a new head gasket on it? May be an indication of this. Or the tractor may have a particular weakness with these symptoms. Try posting with more information on the particular board. They will have more knowledge of specifics than me. Expect the worst and be relieved if is a lesser problem/cost.
