I have an antique race car that uses a IHC magneto that looks to be the same as the type used on F12's. Can someone help me with some questions about this kind of magneto? I am desperate! Please help!

Sincerely, Jeff Adams Coal Valley, Illinois

I have put together a CD that covers rebuilding IHC F-4 magnetos, if you're interested. Works like a web page; you use your web browser to view it. Try and find a model/serial number down near the bottom of the magneto on one side or the other; if it is IHC it should say E4A or F-4, or something like that. There are a couple of very good publications on servicing IHC and other magnetos available also. Let us know what you have.

Mr. Adams:
You probably either have an E4A or an F-4 mag. look on the side near the bottom and it will tell you. Also a quick way to tell is the E4A has screw terminals that hold the spark plug wires on. The F-4 has holes in the cap to plug the spark plug wires in. Send me a message and tell me which one you have and what is your trouble. I bet we can make it spark.

magnetos were stanardized very early on. You can buy a new Wico base mount.

I suppose you have a IHC E4A or F4 mag. Parts are available and I have some repair literature on them also. What do you need?
