Yesterday I received a message from a legit E-bay administration address telling me that they could not verify some of my information, and that my account was suspended until I logged on and verified my information. The email had a spot for my login name and password, and then would take me to a page were I could correct my peronal info.I thought it was a little strange, so I tested my account -- not suspended! I forwarded the emal to Ebay, and within minutes they returned my message informing me tha this WAS A SCAM!!!! The message appears legit, as does the addess, but the crook is using "email spoofing" to use the Ebay address. When you enter your login/password info it will take you to what LOOKS like an Ebay page, where you can "re-enter" your personal info. It's all FAKE, according to the message from the real Ebay. They "harvest" your info and hijack your ebay account (and your credit card info, if you enter it as asked on the fake Ebay page!). Ebay insists that they will NEVER ask for login and password info in an email, and if anyone receives one asking for such info that you should forward it to them immediately -- but in any case, DO NOT ENTER THE INFORMATION REQUESTED! Just thought you all would want to know -- lotta crooks out there! Lee
