Hi All,

I just bought this '51 tractor a few days ago. Is there anything about this guy that looks wrong to you as it does to me?

Allan

Real good looking H Allan.
Wouldn't mind owning one myself someday.
Only thing I can see wrong with that tractor is it's a little too pretty.
You need to hook a plow up to it and get them wheels and weights muddied up a little then no one will notice if they're not quite correct.
Happy tractoring
Jerry

The main thing wrong with that picture is that my house should be in the background!

Muffler, tires and wheel weights.

The wheel weights are the kind used on the old F-20 round spoke wheels, maybe others too like F-30, but I have had F-20's that had them.

Hi Mike,

Okay, they are mounted correctly then? What do they weigh per weight, got any idea?

Thanks,

Allan

Pat is correct. They are F & H weights. I believe they run about 125 lbs. They were used on a number of early spoke wheels tractors. John Deere used them all the way through the styled letter series, and Allis through the WD series. I think MM used them too. I've got a set on my JD 60, drilled out to fit the 3 hole weight bolt pattern.

They look like F&H wheel weights.

I don't know if you can call it wrong or not, but the wheel weights are not IH row crop. They may be for one of the standard series. If they work, what the hay, they'll do.

The wheel weights are the only thing I can see that might not be correct.

Hi Paul,

Is that what it is? I thought they were mounted backwards...but then again, they don't have the squarish centers so you're probably right.

It's got two sets of 'em and yes, makes no difference in the larger scheme of things, I guess.

Allan
