R Marg, My guess is that after warmup, the pressure would remain roughly the same either way, given we have a good sound engine. After it is warmed up, that engine does not care what the outside temperature is, it does not care what weight of oil is running and it does not care who manufactured the oil. Oil pressure is controlled by the oil pump pushing oil thru clearances at the crank & cam and all the while working against the resisting pressure of that oil pressure regulator spring. The critical time is the warmup time and this is where differing oil weights come into play (we've got to get lube to that engine's internal parts when it is cold); after the engine is to temp, there is almost "no" wear whatsoever in an internal combustion engine. All wear comes when she is cold. This is why you never want to buy a car from a little old lady who just used it to run a block and a half down to the post office. That engine's whole life has been nothing but constant abuse. :>) My 2 Cents, Allan
