This must be my declaration of "Newbyism", as I think it is a dumbo carburator question, but I have to start somewhere. It starts like a house on fire, then stops. Hard to start after that. Can someone help? Steve

Open up the drain on the bottom of the carb bowl to make sure you have a good steady flow of gas, if not, start tracing your way back torward to tank looking for restrictions. Good Luck, KS

How long does it run?
Possibly (and likely) fuel supply is restricted - enough fuel reaches carb, given time, but not enough to keep it going.
Tank outlet, filters, line valves, carb float valve are all possibles. Start at carb and check for good, and continuous, flow rates back toward tank.
Make sure it is not electical though. Nice blue spark, not a weak yellow one. Dry plugs would indicate fuel shortage. Too much (flooding) might also be the fault. Check round and if you can't get it going post a few more details and symptoms - diagnosis is difficult enough sometimes with lots of info, let alone without much info like your post.
Regards, RAB
