Boy if you are lonely for email, post a Classified AD to sell an item here. You should be receiving more mail than you can read soon..... more of the same "on behalf of my client" "my shipping agent will contact you" "certified check" BS mails. Will these guys ever get tired of scamming and try like.....WORKING for a living? I suggested just that to the last mail I got, I told him something to the effect of "believe it or not, earning money rather than stealing it is a rewarding experience". What are the odds he tries it?

Once we all realize that these scams do indeed exist in great numbers, there are several ways to react. We can get mad, and of course with the abundance of scammers, we will in all probability stay mad, or we can laugh and wonder what happens when we send one scammer another scammers E.Mail address or any other information they leave themselves vulnerable to. No reason not to extend them the same degree of inconvenience that they impose upon us. Goes to show you that some of us retired geezers have too much idle time on our hands.

I posted an item for elderly friend and the emails started arriving in 2 hrs. He thought he was in luck but I asked to reveiw the mails. Dam scam artists everyone!

I am really appalled at the amount of scum buckets out there.

Standing down from my soap box. . .

No Shutt? Is that a subsiderary of Cockshutt or is it when you get your Cockshutt stolen?

(possible mark)? If you are talking about one of us, there are lots of Mark's responding here and if we didn't talk on this forum, what would be it's point. It would evaporate as no one has anything to read so why visit. Besides I learn a lot by asking questions and making statements that may or may not be accurate....one thing for sure....if you blow it, you get it.....there are lots of experts out there with a lot more farm smarts than I have and I haven't found any of them bashful.

Mark - I think you misunderstand Ray's statement. He wasn't saying "Mark" as a name, but rather as a potiential suspect or target. It is a slang term used by many professions - PI, scammers, theifs, etc. Much as some call a bathroom a "John" - they are not referring to a person's name but a place.

I havent responded to any of the scam replys and I still get a bunch. I just reposted a ford 101 plow for sale, miniutes later a response came back asking about the price and shipping arrangements when it was clearly stated in the ad the cash price and it must be picked up here. It almost seems like the replys are automated and they just use the same reply over and over just changing the product being sold.

Yeah I agree it seems automated because my item is a crimper, not a tractor but they sent me a mail last night that said "I want to buy your antique tractor". They must have a Fraud/Scam University (FSU??)over there according to the numbers of these mails and the consistency of their content. Well they need a new professor because I give them all a F. Oh what the heck I give them a BIG F U.

KX, They may be FSU, but I'll bet they ain't Noles. Makes me think back to the days we used to Yell "Scalp-um" at the football games and didn't even know what a scam was unless it was a Frat house prank.

Maybe we will get lucky and they will burn a congressman or someone of political importance. Then the FBI will actually try to catch them.

It does get fustrating trying to sell a piece of equipment and every reply you get is some kind of scam, they can't even put a sentence together but it's always the same line: buying for a client from overseas.
