I was just curious if anyone has tried these on a finishing mower and what results you might of had.The claim is that they are much, much better than regular blades.I know i am getting tired of having to clean under my deck all the time.It packs it in there real good and i don't cut wet either. It looks to me like a guy could fab his own disk and use some brush hog blades to make one.

I have a set of meg-mow blades on my JD725 and love them. We no longer sweep or rake leaves, they disinagrate with one mower pass. I ridge till and hit my unchopped cornstalks with a Furst harrow in early April. April 18 we had south wind with 80 mph gust blowing corn residue into my yard into 4' "drifts" and covering my lawn. We had to load up the drifts, but we mowed the lawn and they were 90% gone, turned to shredded mulch. I overseeded winter rye in our chicken pasture to refurbish the burnt spots and mowed right through the headed out rye. They don't pull harder, they start harder, by about 25%. Once they're going I think they pull easier. They sound like a powerfull helicopter running.Do what you want to, or waste your time trying to build some unproven contraption that will rip your gearbox out, but I spent a whopping $150 and have a beautiful lawn.I set my height at 3" so I don't have to mow as often, contrary to the old way of thinking of the shorter the better {3" X 1.5 = 4.5" or 2" x 1.5 = 3"]. I read about the blades in Farm Show magazine, called up, and Roy Megli, the inventor who owns a lawn care business answered the phone. He answered all my questions, sent me a set. you can check them out @ www.meg-mo.com.

I got a sample in to look at to sell, and it does not look like a bad peice, but one guy I tried to sell them to has an Exmark lazer Z with a mulch kit on it. Sent them back, did not see any improvement for 50.00 per blade. went back to regular Oregon mulcher blades. Said the Meg-Mo system pulled his engine hard, and did not get any better cut than he already had. His worst complaint, cut the grass finer, clogged up in his deck a lot worse. He said they might work good for some people, but he mows commercially and had a lot of problems with them.

I bought some for a 60 in. Simplicity with a 20 hp kohler. They took a lot more power and never cut any better. The disk is very heavy, I have been thinking of changing them to 3 blades to a disk and have some of the excess material removed with a plasma cutter. I have since replaced the kohler with a 24 hp Honda after a crankshaft seal started leaking.
