Just wondering how the crop year is shaping up for farmers in other parts of Canada and the USA.

Here in SW Ontario the spring was cool and once the rains started they did not stop. We were just shy of beating the wettest spring on record.

I finally got my soybeans planted on the 27th of June. Still planted in the mud. In our clay soils it is only asking for trouble. Once I got planted it turned dry. Just got 1.5 inches the other night. A down pour. Have had rain all around , but kept missing our area. (went 1/4 mile up the road and it was pouring, we got 0) My soys are about 3 inches tall and there is only about 6 weeks growing time left.

Wheat (soft white winter wheat, soft red are loaded with Fusarium) my was graded at the local elevator @ 2% Fusarium which will dock me between 75cents and $1 per bushel. All the area wheat is going as Feed. Wheat cash price is about 3.75 /bushel or so. yeilds are up and down as well afew 90bu/ac crops/ mine was about 70bu/ac

Corn crop is hit or miss , mostly miss. I have never had a year where all 3 crops were so poor

Wet and cool here in Central Pa also. Everyone has had a heck of a time making hay. Some people that were lucky enough to get their corn in early
have a nice crop, but the ones (ME) that didn't plant till june do not. Our oats also look damn nice.

In deep south La the state has said our sugar cane crop is excellent at 85-90% of farms.
But they did plant it last Sept.
The problem is if it does not slow down on the rain it will have mud in the harvested crop driving down the price at the mill.
They are usually in next years fields by now making rows but I have not seen one field rowed up yet.

I'm about 15 miles North of I-465 on the north side of Indianapolis. We have what may be the best looking corn we've ever had. It was planted on April 7 or 8, and has escaped weather damage so far. Soybeans around here look typical for July.

Right here in northern IN it is really hit and miss with the rain. Haven't gotten any 2nd cutting hay without rain and we have already done 100 acres with 300 to go. Just today it rained like heck 1 mile from the farm on some nice alfalfa but not a drop on the already rained on grass alfalfa mix 1/2 mile the other way. Our immediate area crops look great. But 20 miles away on the clay it is either really good or drowned out. Crazy crazy.

I'm in Ohier we did have the wetest spring ever I finished replanting beans on June 25 latest ever The replants look great , almost caught up with the others. There are a FEW good looking corn fields but most are bad I have corn that is so stunted it's tasseling at 3 ft tall The best of the wheat right around here was bad. Best we cut only went 47 bpa the worst was 23, best test wt. was 58 most was 56 Now we keep hopeing to get some rain

I'm in western New York and its been mostly wet and cold. Still haven't done any hay. However I've got the best oat crop I've ever had - gave up trying to plant corn.
