I have seen, a long time ago, an ad for a substance that could be put into tractor and atv tires, to make them puncture proof, It was like a foam that filled the tires, and came in small aerosol cans I think, it was fairly inexpensive and easy to use, does any one know where this co. is or where this product can be bought. thanks BLW

I have seen tractors with fomaed tires get beat to death, the tires are what is like the shock absorber and if you foam fill them, then you loose all cushion. Best thing I hsve found is Amerseal, It works great, I have not had a flat in my Zero trun since I put it in 2 years ago. I ahve seen slime used and if you hit something hard the little plugs shoot out like a bullit, so I do not use that anymore.

After talking to a shop that did the foam filling of tires I came to the conclusion it wasn't for me.

While it does add some weight for additional traction, it does harden the ride somewhat. Maybe others can enlighten us more.

Another down side is that when the treads of the tires wear down, the carcass of the tire must be CUT off for removal. Without tubes, the foam sticks like glue to the rim making removal difficult to say the least.

Had the front tires on my 871 Ford foam filled. It was the best money I ever spent. NO MORE FLATS!!!! Just the right amount of extra weight the front end needed. Cost me $75 each for 650 X 16.

The items the others have suggested are good, but if you are looking for a foam to fill the tire, you have to have it done at a tire shop that offers it. I have priced it out a couple of times and it is not cheap, but people say it lasts until the tire wears out. I priced out a 5.50x16 tire (front of a ford 2000 tractor) and it was around $75.00 each.

The foam that they use is either a hard or soft consistency that replaces the air and can be used with or without a tube.

I've had decent luck with a product called "Slime", it's sold at Wally World, Sam's Club----probably other places as well. You have to remove the valve core to put it in, but it seems to work on my riding mower----I had 3 tires that wouldn't stay up, now they're all holding air.

The best tire sealer is UltraSeal, available at www.gemplers.com

There are two types. One for high speed tires and another for low speed.

One or the other is in every tire I own and has saved me several times.
