I have several old tractors which I am very found of, I also am interested in the OLD indian motorcycles, which I have able to acquire a couple of. Here is what happened to me I located a four cylinder indian motor which I needed. I made the mistake of telling too many people. One person I told bought it out from under me. Same with tractors if you drive 400 mi. put some money up front. This is what I should have done. Lesson learned. Back to looking for that indian 4 engine. Stan

Ever seen Walnecks magazine? Even has a website, although I can get the magazine around Illinois and Indiana. Always has Indian parts, and heavy into just about everything Harley. I pieced together a WLA and UL in my spare time that two buddies enjoy these days. I built my shovel from there, and if get some time, going to do a pan. You can find Indian stuff there, including 4 cylinders from time to time.

Always pays to play your cards close. Back in '87 we were looking at a farm. 222 acres with a nich house in 3 tracts. Made an offer on all and the guy would have probably taken it. My dad talked a little too much and one of his 'friends' who couldnt buy a bag of topsoil went and looked with some big spiel about how interested he was. We bought it but it cost us an extra $20,000 if he hadnt been nosing around.

They say hind site is 20/20. We had an old Indian motorcycle, along with another one that I can't remember a brand name on, that sat behind our shop back in the 70's. All I remember about both of the is that they were fairely old even then but neither were in extremely bad shape. Nothing that a few dollars and some TLC wouldn't have fixed. I was still pre'teen at the time and always liked to play around on them and talk about fixing them up and riding them one day. Mom was "down" on motorcycles after her brother almost got killed on one so the closest I ever got was a mini bike. After several years they got to where they were always "in the way" so Dad eventually cut them up and they went for scrap. With the popularity of the old Indians nowdays it would probably scare me to know what the old bike would be worth if it had been fixed up...

You have to watch those "friends" I once had lots of friends. Then I loaned some of them money. Now I have only a few friends, but they are true friends that I can trust.

Well,

My experience with feeling benevolent is that the requester has no real intentions of paying it back or they would go to a financial institution and put something at risk. They talk the talk, but don't walk the walk....especially family...kiss that donation goodbye.
