I have dual rear wheels on a 1964 Ford 2000 LCG. One of the rims is starting to deteriorate. I would like to get larger wheels and tires to create some more ground clearance. Does anyone have experience with such a conversion? Any advice would be helpful.

I have changed over a couple of these LCG's. As Rick states, the front spindles are shorter, but only by 1 1/2 inches. it is easy to change these out if desired, 8N all the way up to the 1000 series will fit. I have heard that the gearing is different, but to me, barely noticable. Low gear is still as low as you would ever need Dave

Yes. The front spindles are shorter, so larger tires on front won't keep it from 'running downhill'. Faster final drive gearing on 3 cylinder LCG's make conversions go really fast. Not sure about your 4 cyl 1964, but I would find out before swapping.
