Hook or Unhook?

This is OT but I could not find a better place to post. Is there any reason to unhook a loaded gooseneck trailer from a pickup that is fully loaded but not overloaded for 3 - 5 days? I don't want to over stress the truck but it sure can be hard to jack back up on an "old" man if I unhook it. As I said, the truck isn't overloaded but I don't want to damage suspension or tires. Is that a concern or are they built to take the pressure? Thanks.

That depends, is the truck a Ford?

if so, on hook, rebuild motor, trans, new bearings, new frame. just be easier to get a chevy.

Course, if you have a chevy, you will need to unhook the trailer, to hitch it to your buddy's Ford, so he can haul your chevy to the dealer for every little problem.....

Wouldn't be nearly as hard on the truck just sitting as it would with the same load running up and down the road. If it were mine I would just park it and not worry.

No it won't hurt it to sit for a while. No it won't hurt to unhook it.But if you are concerned about the weight on your truck....Just roll your trailer jack down to take some weight off the truck..... But don't forget to raise it before you take off..... idontno

Just that simple. in reply to idontno, 10-13-2004 08:55:19
Probably the best answer that anyone will give. Satisfies both sides. Can only go wrong if forget to raise the jacks.
