I recently posted an add on this site for a set of used tires I have for sale. This is the e-mail I got this morning:

Name: Garry Parker
Phone: Location: Message: Hello And Good Day,
I dicovered you have a Horse for sale.I'm Interested in purcashing the Item.i
would like to know the least amount which you are offering to sell the Item off
and also would like to know the present condition.I would also want more
descriptions too.I would be expecting to read from you soon.
Thanks..
Mr.Garry

What does it mean? Do you guys think its the start of some kinda scam, or is it some fruitcake who dosn't know the difference between a horse and a set of tires? I almost laughed out loud when I read it this morning.

Here's what I received after the "horse for sale"... I figured he's thinking like Mr. Haney from Green Acres... "Horse trader" .So I replied, and he sent back, "what's the lowest you'll take, and what's the condition....

I don't get this "my client" crap. And I sure wouldn't do this guys errands for him for free. Even if he is for real.....

I responded to the mail below with. "Cash only, phone number is on the ad." Haven't heard back yet as of 3:30a.m.

Hello,
Thanks for your email,I just contacted my client about the cost of your
Item which Is $600 and also about the present condition and he Is
satisfied with It.So my client said he will be Issuing you a Certified
Check of $4,600 while you you deduct the cost of your Item $600 and wire
to the My Personal Assistant $4000 through Western Union and who would
be settling the shippers and make all other shippment arrangement. The
$4000 would be wired to my personal assistant who would see to it that
the shipping comapny come for the pick up of the Item.So I will like you
to send me your full contact information to where my client will be
sending you the Certified Check like this:
name..... ...
full address..... ..... . Not a P.o Box Address
city..... ..... ...
state..... ..... .
country..... ....
zipcode..... .....
cell/office/home phone number..... ..... ..... .....
I will look forward to the requested information as soon a s possible so
that the check can be sent out to you immediately And do get back to me
with the Pics of the Item so that my client will be Able to see What he
is paying off. Looking forward to your response soon.

Best Regards..

Could be he"s an e-mail "address harvester". Sends out any old e-mail to see who replies...if they do, then he"s got a valid address and it goes to a listing somewhere....

I got the same email too, and on an M i had advertised, but hey, if the man wants a horse, I told him it was the wife's favorite horse and we lost our pasture lease and yeh, $10,500 would get him bought, and I had all the paperwork for it. Haven't heard anything back from Mr. Garry. Guess he didn't want my horse, Harley

Jeff, I can see lots of laughs here. most will tell you to delete it and move on, Well maybe not most. The tractor tires,Horse, would be a 39 Studebaker with fender well spare tire mounts in my answer. Redmud:

Red, you should have seen me and the wife laughing when I sent him my reply. Typed it in the same manner as he did. Like this "Yes I gotta hose for sale, and it is a pirty horse two. It is my wifes horse and she rilly likes it, butt $10,500 wood probly git it bought." Anyway, you get my drift. Haven't heard anything back from Mr. Garry, but like you, this thing sent red flags two feet high in the air for me. I just couldn't leave that alone. Later, Harley

Your replies are hilarious. Got the same e-mail for a JD 4020. Never bothered or had the wit to reply. Uh, gotta go see a man about a horse.

There's a whole lot of idiots out there, and they seem to especially live on the web. I regularly get questions like that on items I put up for sale.

I got one too from Mr. Garry. Looks like a scam to me. He could have at least called the tractor I have for sale an "IRON" horse!
