I have a 1949 John Deere Model M completely original. Missing only three lights and has a broken throttle lever. Other than that everything is there and functional. A lady drove it into her barn 15 years ago. After flushing the engine,an oil change, new battery, clean set and gap points and plugs, rebuild carb, clean air filter, oil gen., oil fan, oil starter etc. it started after 2 revolutions and runs perfectly. It has straight cowling, slightly dinged grill. Shifts great, touch-o-matic works good, all gauges and switches work. Oil pressure in the green, good radiator, wheel weights front and rear, average tires. It also has a disc, plow, sickle mower and scraper blade. Original owners manual. Value? Thanks.

Howdy,

I'll agree with John. It's all up to the buyer. Of course that is, unless you're dead set on a certain price yourself. I have one sitting in the my shop right now. It was a basket case when it came in but over a year later it is on the last mile to being a showroom tractor with lots of new parts and a slick paint job. Once my friend pays my 1000.00 restoration fee he'll have nearly 3000 in the tractor. So, you can see the general value for a fully restored one. Well, one fully restored by me. Sure beats where it was Aug. of 2003. In a barn, rusted, severely dented, covered in tobacco, not started in probably 30 years, and being used as a stepladder into the rails of the tobacco barn. Sure won't be there anymore. God bless.

I just bought, then re-sold an MT. It had essentially the same equipment, only without the scraper blade or disc. I paid $1400. (VERY low hours) I cleaned, tuned and painted it. We sold it in less that 3 weeks for $3750.

Point being....It's worth whatever the buyer is willing to pay. (Wide swing in the price range) John
