8' er but age? wheel carried or drag type if cultimulcher likeAllen posted picture or just plain cultipacker or? and is it single roller or double roller? I think what you are refering to has wood boxings that a good wood shop could make as they are no longer avaible new from dealer but I may know somebody that has them avaible

Hi Jim,

I'm pretty sure they were bought out by AGCO. You might try one of these dealers near you. Darned good packers, by the way.

Hope this helps,

Allan

For years I been wondering what a culti-packer looked like. Could you post another picture from the side, I can't see the middle line very well.

Mornin' Dave,

This is the only other picture I have. It is an old BearCat that is setting on a lot up in Montana.

Packers have a row of roller packer wheels in the front (usually smooth)used to break up the clods, then two rows of heavy spring tooth teeth in the center, followed by another row of packer wheels, but this time, using a crow foot style patterned wheel.

Sometimes the crowfoot and the smooth packer wheels were reversed end for end; depended on the farmer and his soil type.

They are (were) the absolute cat's meow to work plowed ground. One pass with this little tuffie and you're ready to plant.

The downside is that they take a bit of heavy black smoke to tug 'em and a guy certainly wants to be dualed up ahead of the little darlin'. (That's probably why every one you see has a bent tongue brace). :>)

Hope this helps,

Allan

Allen: Out here that would be a Culitmulcher, If you do not have the springtooth in the middle it is a Cultipacker.
