3pt hitch works one time and not the next. Not sure if working the draft control has anything to do with it. Tractor has been seting for a few years, we primed the pump and changed hyd. oil twice. This is a Ford 800 tractor.

The o-rings inside the A-hitch are shrunken from age. Put some SealLube in there to restore them.

Could be contamination in the system.
We had a problem like that once and the repair shop told us to drain the system not once, not twice, not three times, not four times, but five times.
We strained the fluid with crocus cloth each time and ran the pump between drainings to make sure everything in the system was agitated.
It worked.
