While doing some mowing today, I was thinking about Fatherday's and Dad. He would like to tell different stories about when he was growing up. One story was, when his teacher took the class on a field trip to pick wild flowers. The teacher let him take his shotgun incase there was a snake. Can you imagine that being done today. Miss you Dad, and all your stories. Stan in calif.

Chief, there are not to many days that I don't think about Mom and Dad, my MIL and FIL. I really do miss them all. To have been blessed with the greatest Mom and Dad in this world, and then luck out and win a MIL and FIL that ranked along side them, words cannot describe. Happy Fathers Day, To You All.

Nope, times have certainly have changed there Chief.

Remember as kids, playing cops and robbers? "Bang, bang, bang, got 'ya". Try that as a kid today, and mandatory suspension for zero tolerance - made a gun gesture with a finger.

Don't get me going Cheif, but Happy Fathers Day to you, and everyone else.

Mark

My 3 kids asked me what I wanted for Fathers day. I told them I'd like to have all the hay cut by the time I get home from work :). Being 12,10 and 4 That won't happen but they would give it a shot if thier mother let them.

It's the thought that counts, Happy Dad's Day!

It seemed to me that my dad could do impossible things when I was a kid. He taught me a good trade, how to be a worker, respect for my elders, and he always said "Keep the fear of god in your heart". Miss him and my father-in-law an awfull lot right now.
Happy father's day to all.

Both of my grandparents on Dad side of the family died when he was very young,so he didnt have many stories to tell of them, but boy he had alot of stories about my great granddad, like the time he tried to cross a shallow pond on his f14,the moonshine he used to sell, the T model he could never get running in the rain, and my favorite "chuka-lacka,chuka-lacka,chuka-boom lacka,lacka,boom,boom.....",the way he desribed the hit and miss engine on the pumphouse.

Dad died in 1972 - wish he could have been around to meet my wife and see his farm now. Would love to be able to go out to the field with him. Wife's dad (don't have a FIL) can get hit by a truck.

My dad used to tell a story of when he snuck his father's pistol out of the house and took it to school with him. The teacher at the one room school made him take it back home.

Dad died 18 years ago, he was only 60 years old. A day doesn't go by that I don't wish I could have one more conversation with him.

My father-in-law died five years ago, and I miss him almost as much as my own dad.
