Oh now Galen, can't we have just a little bit?
The leaves on the maple trees were turned wrong side out this afternoon, that's usually a good sign, but no guarantee.

Hi Pard,

It has been sooooo out of character up here to.

So much so, that I'm almost to the point of takin' a gamble and putting in some winter wheat on this years old alfalfa ground.

It rained all thru the night and is supposed to rain all day, today. Reminds me of the '50s.

'Spose we've finally broken the draught?

Allan

Our house has been standing nearly 100 years... figure it's been through just about everything an' still goin strong, BUT, I was expecting to be wadin water in the living room this evening. The house sits on a bit of a high spot and I always thought flooding would be the least of our worries, but, we came pretty close this time around! Streets were runnin like rivers! It's GREAT!!!! Hope y'all getcha some!
Regards, DL

Looks promising on radar. Hope theres some rain in there, and everyone gets a good some. Ended up with .70 out of that last one. Been a lot of hot weather and wind since then.

This one must be statewide Glaen and if we miss out on this one, it's gonna be a huge disappointment.

Last two nights, we've got an inch here in the hills. Out where it matters, it is bone dry of course. :>(

So, that's where our rain went to! Here, near Pittsburgh, the weatherman came on the tv, hollering about severe thunderstorms, interupting Judge Judy's program several times! I went out and put the mower in the barn, covered up several more with tarps, closed all of the truck windows, and Voila'!! Nary a drop! Oh, it grumbled, the sky clouded up and--nothing! Guess Eastern Ohio got it all before us! I worked out in the yard all morning, came in for lunch, and when i went out after, i decided i didn't really have to go out today! I think it was 90+! Golly, our electric bill will look like the war debt! We don't have air conditioning. Our home sits in the woods, and is shaded almost all day! the shingles are still the ones installed when the house was built in 1940! The trees keep it shaded all summer! And the shingles are 3/8 inch thick! Ceiling fans do a good job of cooling! Keep Kool! Rustyj

We got some rumbling goin on right now...fingers crossed. This is the worst drout in history here.

My alfalfa is all bloomed out at about 8" tall. Lost a bunch after cut it second time. Stems just turned white and never devloped a crown. I've lived here for 42 years and never seen it so bone dry. Swamp next to alfalfa field is dry, never seen that before either. There is lots of guys around here that are in a world of hurt.
Hope we get some rain and you'all get some too!! Larry NE IL

Well - there's your problem! You SHOULD have left everything untarped and the windows rolled down! You'd been assured of rain then!
