Anybody notice the sharp decline in the amount of ads being posted? What's up with that? Maybe old tractor collecting is declining.

I hope the market for collector tractors hasn't reached the saturation point, but I too notice less ads or less quality stuff. Sold six last year, two so far this year & have been sitting on the most collectable putt-putt for three months & pulling season & show season at that. Maybe I too have been lazy in the ad dept!

I haven't noticed a lack of adds so much but the tractors for sale seem to me to have gone up in price as rapidly as the price of gas. Put a low price tractor in decent condition for sale and I would suggust it will be sold by tomorrow but I could be wrong. Jerry

I'm sure it's fuel cost related and freight related and also the time of year many are just busy. Last minute vacations, school starting, field work, fall planting and other things. Wait till almost Christmas and folks will be selling again.

I think the price of fuel is a big factor- I want to buy a project tractor in Ontario (a Cockshutt- what else?). I figure I'll have about $1,500 in fuel round trip, and have been trying to come up with a haul (or hauls) from Washington to points east on the hauling board to add up to that figure- not a lot of response, and those that do, balk at the cost. Maybe the project will have to wait.

I haven't seen a lack of ads but I have seen a lack of buyers this past year. I sold 4 tractors last summer and not one this summer. I think maybe there just no money out there or people are holding on to it. A friend that owns a pawn shop has noticed the same thing, few sellers or buyers.

I tried it once. Got 2 scams from overseas and one lookey-loo. Watching for cut close to home and all I see are like in New England.

I have not noticed a decline in ads only in responses to my ads. I think fuel just costs too much for people to want to travel very far.
