Allan is muttering, "I tell ya, I just don't get no respect. No respect at all. . . We got a new waterbed the other day- the wife nicknamed it "Lake Placid." No respect at all. . ."

Load range ratings. I've only ever seen D and E. I don't know if there's such a thing as a load range F. E is pretty good. That's what I have on my trailer.

Having a flatbed trailer has turned out to be one of the handiest things ever. Seems like I'm always using it for something. I don't know how I lived 48 years without one!

Hey Neighbor!

Naw, I'm stuck dead in the water and can't turn a blessed wheel due to issues that I can't go into here.

All in time, I guess. :>)

Allen, the E stands for the load range. This is determined by whether the tire is used in a single or dual configuration. It also tells you how much weight the tire can hold at certain inflations. You will need a load chart for this. Nebraska Tire has a web site for this. The size of the tire also has to do with the load carrying capacity of the tire. I am not near a spec book right now, but I believe that an LT23585r16 LRE @ 80PSI should carry about 3300 LBS single. So if you have a 7000 LB axle with single tires, your max load would be 6600 LBS. Hope this helps you out. I am not sure of the website for Nebraska Tire, but it maybe just their name with a dot com or Firth Tire may be there website, this is a fairly popular tire dealer in Nebraska. Not sure what part of the state you are in, but I know these guys have a location just west of Kearney. You could also probably find the information on a tire manufacturers website, like BFGoodrich.com. It is worth a try. Good luck. John

the E letter is the load range of tire nowdays used to be 2ply 6ply etc now they use letters. Those should be fine,go with radials and have them balanced. I would only go with trailers now that have the wire s all enclosed and the lights are all mounted in rubber. A tandem axle two 7000lb axles will be all you need for your truck anyway. You do not need the dually axles for your truck in my experience I have been pulling a 22 ft and thats large enough for a 3/4 ton pickup if you load it. I would go with the low profile type period. They are much easier to work off of. I have a 22ft loadmaster unit that is bed between fenders unit and it really works nice for hauling skidsteers hay etc,can not haul large tractors however but I don't do that anyway. I am going to a 32ft triple axle low profile bed above tires 102" widenext time. I haul small bales hay /straw 95% of the time I like the triples they pull much easier and are more stable due to wider axles than the dually units. Have pulled them both for a fellow when I was helping him and we both wanted to pull triple instead of the dually. Just my experience with them. Brakes and keeping lights on them are a nightmare period. but totaly enclosed rubber mounts are way better than the low budget trailers that are alot out there. PS make sure it has drop legs if you do no go with the self standing flip ramps on the rear. If you don't you can pick the pickup rear pff the ground whil loading sometimes and you will be UNLOADED quicker then you loaded, been ther bdone that. Also get the gear reduction jack stands.

That is the load Range and as leland said E is for 10 ply.
There should be a # by it that will give you a code for the Load Index or how much weight it will carry.

E's should be a 10 ply rating keep them full of air and they can handle a fair load on top of them , or are we talking about comdoms .

Allan,

Call your local tire store and ask what the E rating is. It is a load range but I don't know the details.

Concerning trailer brakes, I can tell you from experience that they work better when the pigtail is plugged in!

It's good, I think. E stands for "excellent". Can't do much better than that- you're good to go.

Ooooo, I've got one...the "E" stands for Euphoria which is the state Allan will be in with his now superior load carrying capability.
