If you have the chance to watch the PBS reality movie "The Last Cowboy", try to do it. Neat story that covers 23 years of a ranching family's life on the S.Dak./Neb. border.
Everything that's discussed on this site (tractors, pickups, weather, cows, horses, crops, romance, etc.) gets shown in full color!

I caught it in progress and couldn't pull myself away. Started watching after the Astros lost and I think the show went off at like 3 AM last night. Very good show.

I watched this last night on PBS. They seem like real good folks.

The real cowboy is alive and well thank you, but he don't get shown on TV. Excuse me for being cynical but TV only shows a perceived version of "reality"

Like Baxter Black says, "you just can't see them from the road".

Howard;
Oh, I suspect that ol' boy from Porcupine is real. But there again, I bet if they had filmed the last 20 some years of your life, they could make an interesting 90 minute movie as well!

Agreed, but too many of my life moments would be seen on America's Funniest Home Videos instead of PBS.

TVs "reality" is only what people want to see and only if it is glorified to make it look "fun" to the people watching it.
