I was wondering if anyone could point me in a direction. I am interested in putting a backhoe on the Ford8N I own. I was wondering on what size could I use. Is there a limit on the size...I know I don"t want a 11footer but thinking something in the 8foot range. Would that be too much for the rearend. I was thinking of buying a 3 point hitch one but build some type of subframe for it so it would be more stable? Is that a good idea? Is it too large for a small tractor like the 8N. Thanks for any help or ideas.

you can use a 7 or 8' on an8N but buy one with a frame-- the 3pt hitch ones will break the rear end on the tranny out where the top link hooks- also be aware the JD's and the other light 3 pt hoes are junk only made out of tin and bend very easy as do the cylinders-- do not push against the hoe to move the tractor like you do with the reg. hoes
