First off I hope I have this under the right discussion board. But has anyone ever seen or heard of a putting an IH SV8 345 engine and 4spd truck tranny into a Farmall F20 chassis? For a spare time, recreational tractor to take to antique tractor shows I thought of taken on such a project, and wanted to hear what others might say to this? Keep in mind there probably wouldn't be alot of pulling being done with this tractor, maybe some PTO work if any. Any ideas with such a project, or am I spinning me wheels here? Thanks!

Oh, I remember hearing of a guy that took an IH Loadstar front driving truck axle and mounting it to have Front Wheel Assist. Any ideas on that? Most crucial part would be to get the ratios just right. I heard the guy ran it off a shaft at the bottom of the transmission on the F20. I need to find that article. It was in a book of ideas from farmers. Sort of an encyclopedia of ideas. Hoefully I can find it. But just kind of curious on the part too. Thanks!

The engine swap is no problem. It's your tractor. I've seen F20s with dual V8s back when they ran the pulling circuit. The bottom shaft in the transmission is only going to run one speed like the PTO and belt pulley. You will have to ratio it for one transmission gear only.
