Howdy Guys!

Jumped in the truck early this morning and ran down to a big salvage yard to gather up all the parts and pieces for this old 3-point hitch.

Got home 'bout 1pm and started thrownin' 'er together.

Found all the indexing marks right off the bat, put on the lift arms and hit 'em first stab. Cleaned out the pivot pin holes and hung the carry arms, lifted 'em up and walla! 3-point arms, they are a hangin'.

Went to mount the sway train/drawbar rest. Oooops, they gave me one for a large frame tractor. Not even close! :>(

Oh well, what's another 200 miles anyway in the larger scheme of things? :>)

Hey Vet!

Those same arms will work on either tractor. Right?

They sure look the same anyway. Not the lift arms (I know they are different), the lower carry arms?

No,

Will they (cat II carry arms) interchange between small frame tractors (656, 666, 686, etc) and large frame tractors(706, 756, 766, etc)?

They sure look the same to me; dunno tho.

On my 686 the lift arms are pinned to the lower carry arms thru a hole drilled directlly thru the lower arms, not the bracket ball swivel type yours look like they have. Those carry arms kinda look like early 706/806 peices but I'am not sure. I know my 706's fast hitch has those lower swivel balls to but my 756 three point has the newer type spade lift arms.

Dont know Allan, guess it is OK. I just had to get the adapter arms to go from FH to 3pth. The top link bracket was already on the tractor when I bought it. (706 German)

Hi Steve,

This old squatter didn't have a-'ting when I bought 'er. :>(

They tried to give me the big lift arms and the straight drawbar too; luckily I caught that part. Should have looked at this basket a little closer, but I was in a hurry to get back on the road headed fer home.

I understood him to say the hitch came off a Hydro 86; guess he said 806 and I misunderstood him.

Oh well, just another day, I guess.

Allan, where in the world do you find a PTO hydraulic pump that big? My little M+W dist. drive live pump wants to balk in this cold with a big bale on the front and trying to use power steering. That thing looks like the cat's meow. Oh but wait, I don't have live PTO. Bummer. never mind, don't think it would work after all. Harley

Harley:

Isn't there a rough looking 400D on the tractor sales part?? That would sure solve that poor old H's issues. I think that the WFE from it would work on a 400 wouldn't it?? Never mind I see it is sold.

Allan:

I've been looking around at three point arms (lift etc) for my 856. It has the fast hitch, are those things like 650- 700 out there also??

BTW what are you doing with that old loader you had to cut off your nice new hydro tractor???

Hi Rob,

Yeah, the darned things are pretty darned spendy; just like everything else us guys need. :>(

I'm trying to work a deal with the local dealer on a trade for a quick attach. If we don't get it worked out, then I'll just order some new mounting irons and keep using the old one.

Good Luck on the trade Allan, I saw one of those somewhere around here go for about 750-800 at a sale. I didn't want one at the time, now I have a 560 that I would like to have one for.

To Rob,you can get the 3pth to FH adapter arms.

To Harley,We never had a loader tractor with power steering or a live pump. Just grew up that way and didnt know no different. Or lived too far from the hiway.
