I have 2 560's with whistles one is the original 282 and the other is a 301 out of a combine. The 301 has a M&W with a Airresearch TO4 turbo and I pulled it a few times ,run's real good at 2600rpm and 15# boost 2nd gear 6500lb.class.It will push a little antifreeze out the back of the head but haven't blown a gasket yet.THe other one has the old TD9 cat blower kit it's healthy but haven't pulled it, but has around 90HP.I read to use stud bolts and nuts instead regular head bolts that tend to streach more.

Theirs so many options on building a to4.I use the small exhaust turbine wheel theirs 3 size's of them. Then use a small exhaust turbine houseing I think mines a .54 A/R it's been a long time since I put it together I think it's .50 something, then a small airside turbine wheel and compressor houseing.Used to have a 656 282 with a M&W turbo scrach built by mixing up wheels and houseings and ran 25lb. with a 806 roosa pump, and the IH midgett nozzles, that was a hard running tractor.

The problem with putting a hairdrier on them old D282's is that they do not have enough head bolts to hold her down with when ya turn the wick up . Now if ya just farm with it and keep the power down to around 85 Hp. they will do fine . Back many moon's ago a buddy of mine bought a 560D and we installed a M&W turbo and turned up the wick till he had about 110 Hp and had nothing but problems with it blowen head gskt. and then it started cracken heads. End up turning it down and he ran it for many years . They just are not Super Stock material .

Never tryed it back then and since there is no clear guide lines on tractor pullen engine building ya learn the hard way and make notes as to what does or does not work as far as shaven the pistons down well she will get a bit harder to start and i still think that it is a head bolt issue . Even on the gassers if ya build enough pony power they will not seal all that well . If it was me i think that i would try the O/Ring on the block first before i tryed O/Ringing the head and maybe even getting the head Dowell pinned to the block to keep the head from walking as this also could be part of the problem.
