If in good shape that is about right I would guess. I had a case-IH salesman that said he would buy ours fixed up one for $9000. TA's are junk nomatter what anyone says. I would expect to put one in if not done recently.

I don't have a problem with the T/A's if you just keep up with adjustments and never use it for braking all the T/A's that i have installed from the first one back twenty years ago are still hanging in there . But the one a buddy of mine had installed by someone else is on it's way to lunch and it has only been in for a year and a half so it all depends on who and how it was done. It is not just a matter of droppen one in and buttoning it back up and cross your finger and do ten Hale Marys and hope for the best .

I'm on your side about the TA units. It also helps if you can convince the operator to MOVE that TA lever instead of slowly messing with it until it falls into position!

Well it is a bit high but i have notseen the tractor in question as ya see alot of them in the 45-65 range but i did sell one for 8750 once but i realy did not want to sell that one and put the price up to where i figured that the guy would just walk away well he didn't and just asked how i wanted the check made out what do you do so i figured that i could go and buy two more with the money and that is what i did but i had that one all done over for myself and evytime i fix one upsomeone just has to buy it from me so now my 806 is the worst looking tractor around and nobody wants it but me but i have a good running 806 with 8600 hours on it they do last and are one good tractor even if ya got to buy one and fix it . Myself i like to fix a rag up if i can buy it for the money like around 35-4500 and then ya have room to work if you can do it yourself . The engine is a bit tricky to rebuild if not done correctly and will come apart but if done wright they will live for thousands of hours the T/A if done correctly will live a long life and the rest is almost bullet proof.
