Can someone out there tell me why my nose cone on my wire welder is energizing even though the insulator is good and the tip is clean? Thanks friends

there are 3 causes of this problem. there is splatter build up in the tip. the insulater core is damaged (thats the core the wire is fed through it can be removed in most welders).the copper tip is of the wrong size so the base of the tip is incontact with the nose cone at the torch end

When that happens to me it's because spatter has built up inside the the nose cone and is shorting between it and the contact tip.
