Anybody know what would cause a fusible link to blow when I try to start the truck? The engine turns over, but no ignition. I traced the wire by color, looks to go to ignition. Tried the dodge forum, no luck there. Thanks for any replies.

It's normaly a chaffed wire around the ignition switch. Also check the bulkhead connector.

To much current through the fuseable link caused by a short in the starter solenoid, ignition switch, or the wire going to it.

My 84 s10 blew a fussible link and i dont know why. I soldered in a new link and has been working just fine. I did nothing to the truck that would have made it blow.My.02
