Been working on a stuck Allis C today. Got it to pop loose but, #2 sleeve popped out of the engine with the piston and is still stuck in the sleeve. I have a parts tractor with what looks like some good sleeves but I don't have a puller. Can I or could I take this old sleeve and from the bottom use it to tap on to pop out one of the sleeves in the other engine??
Any body have any other ideas? Also in a full gasket set do the seals or o-ring which ever it has come in the kit?
Thanks

Rich, here you go. Made this from a piece of 3/4 althread and a couple pieces of tubing. the biscuit was as piece of 1/2 inch plate that I ground to the outside diameter of the sleeve and I welded a nut on the bottom. Then spot welded top ring to it. You could just cut a piece of plywood size of inside diameter of sleeve, all this does is hold the biscuit in place and keeps your althread centered in the sleeve. I now have machined biscuits...HTH

Bot time you got on line Keith, haven't heard from you in days. Well at least I can say I got it loose but not the way I wanted to do it. I'll probably pull the engine out of this other C tomorrow after I get it to turn over, ya its stuck also but at least the sleeves don't look bad. If the block wasn't so heavy I would just set it on my shop press and press them out but I think its over my 35 lbs weight limit. LOL I'll take a picture of the sleeve tomorrow and send it to you man was if full of rust.

Rich, been digging a ditch, need to run electric about 100 ft and a water line. Ol backhoe does a pretty good job, but ditch is a lot wider than needed, 2 foot wide. Also going to run going to run an air line about 60 ft. All in the same ditch. Electric wire will be run in underground conduit.

If the liners are the wet type with o-rings it's usually hard to actually drive them loose. The multiple o-rings will often act as a shock and the liner won't do anything but set there and bounce unless you get really violent with it. It's just one of those things where a hard, steady pull is needed more so than a hammering action. Either way you do it once you get off the o-rings it'll probably fall right out. Short of having an actual puller you can use a threaded rod and plate setup like one of the other posts suggests. If your really good you can torch cut the lower one where it's just a bit smaller than the OD of the liner and do it that way, although getting someone to turn it on a lathe is so much more precise. Good luck.

I have used a length of threaded rod w/ a T bar on bottom end to get under the sleeve. Then put another T bar on top w/ some small blocks under it. Only have to pull it a short distance & it will pop right out. KB

This may be obvious but have you tried heat on the sleeve? If you want to try to remove the sleeve from the other tractor try filling the sleeve with dry ice first, then it should come out easier. Good luck.

The sleeve that popped out is so far gone it can't be saved, its so rusty that my gravel road is smoother then the inside of it LOL
