My wife and I have been looking for an 8n for some time now, we want to restore it and use it for small chores such as our garden. I have found one in our area for $1800. It is between a 1950-52, side distributor, and factory proof meter. It is in fair condition, missing a headlight and the work light and tail light are gone, but the bracket and wires are still there. The only thing I noticed other than that is it has been converted to twelve volt, and the tool box under the hood has been removed I assume to accomodate the larger battery. Obviously it needs a paint job, but this seems to me a pretty good price. It runs quite well. Let me know what you think.

If its got the hour meter its a 1952 . Before that there was no meter or even hole location on the dash . Good price . Go for it . Ken

Actually, the proofmeter made it's appearance in mid-1950 at around s/n 276xxx.

Buy it---if the tires are in real good shape, consider it a really good deal---if you do not have to haul it very far to your property, consider that a plus as well---all original, another plus---you will always have a bit of buyers remorse for a short time, but that goes away after you start to use the tractor! Good luck and have fun---
