A radio program (Art Bell?) had a scientist guest who talked about making amatuer rockets in his teens...a farmer let him use his field, scooping out a 5-6 foot trench with sloping ends...while he was setting up his shoots the cows would come ,looking in the trench, watching..after a few shoots they learned when he walked out a big bang was coming and they walked away aways too...but they learned that if he ran out like the devil was after him the big bang was coming right away, and they'd run way down to the end of the field...I can't vouch for this one, it's just what I heard.

I remember that Art Bell Episode... Seems like the guy built the rockets at Richard Petty's Dad's shop. The guy rambled non-stop for hours, even claimed he had done work at Area 51. Although hard to believe, I stayed up real late one night listening to it... Felt like crap the next day..... It was interesting, though.....
