Bought a case of Rotella T at Walmart yesterday. Got it home and carried it in the shop. Set it on the floor next to the last case I bought. The boxes are WAY different. Just cheaper to print with out any yellow or has the oil changed too? Wallyworld have their own labeling to cut the price? Are there different kinds of Rotella T? The API ratings are the same so I do not think the oil is different. Just wanted to know if anyone else had noticed this or had info on it.

Chris----- --I run a testing lab and we pick up 1000 samples of oil a year. I have seen the diffrence also. It is just packing. Check your API spec and if it is okay you are good.

Marv, You opened up Pandoras Box on that Question. For ME....Delo is the Only oil period, I won't pour Rotella in a worn out Briggs-Stratton Lawn mower motor. 97 Ford 4.6 V8 300k miles all on Dello
87 Chevy 350 V8 240K miles all on Dello
966, Farmall M, all on Dello
The pruf is in the pudding.
But there are equally as many folks who like Rotella, just not Me!
Later,
John A.

Of the off the shelf oils, quality goes up from Rotella to Delo to Mobil Delvac. I switched to Delvac in my road trucks this year from Delo.

This info is from a Certified Lubrication Specialist (my dad) with 15 years experience selling lubricants competing with those 3.

email me if you"d like any more detailed info.

There is a new Rotella T on the shelf in blue bottles. A full synthetic oil that is supposed to be better than the white bottled version. Is the new comparable to Devac 1?

The Rotella T "synthetic" is not a Group IV/V oil its a highly refined Group III conventional oil. I refuse to buy any of the Rotella products because of this sham marketing practice. Its probably decent oil but nothing compared to a real Group IV/V synthetic oil like Mobil 1, Amsoil or Redline.
