Can anyone give me any information on putting a turbo on a 756 with the d310 engine.

Thanks,
Albert

i see there's one on e-bay. I've got a 756, but it struggles to keep cool w/o turbo. I'm trying to figure out how to put a deeper radiator like off of a 1066 to try to help it out.

NW,

Over the years, I've had four IH tractors with heating "problems". Every blessed one of 'em turned out to be a bad gauge.

This was my latest adventure with the 310 when I stuck the new gauge's bulb down in the radiator.

On a 706-310 mill, they were always a coolrunner. Put in a new thermastat and cleaned the rad as part of a preventive maintenance, along with a new temp guage. would have to let the grill build up with hay or chaff to get half movement of needle. Without the turbo, those old 310s just do not say stall. Now with a turbo..... ..... ..... ...QR..

If your running that hot, either your radiator is plugged, thermostat not opening, timing is off, or something else. With my 756D I have to put cardboard over 1/2 of my grill in 85 degree weather, just to get any temp on the guage. I know it isn't a faulty guage because I replaced it with a brand new one, just to make sure. I think my problem is a thermostat stuck open. Bottom line, you should not have to put in a larger radiator. Gene

I could be what i'm asking of it. Just working in the Hay field, all is fine. I do pull a 15' sidewinder on a regular basis, and though the tractor does have the hp to pull the cutter most of the time, it will heat up on me if i run it much past 11am on hot summer days. I keep the rad. cleaned of chaff, and have flushed the coolant since i have purchased the tractor. I have not had the rad boiled. The thermostat appears to open and close correctly, you can watch the gauge and tell when it opens.
