Definately something outta line there or wobbling around. First thing is find out what it is. Second thing is fix it. Third thing to do is ditch your boyfriend... oh! did I just type that out loud? LOL! Surprised no one else said that yet. We must be slipping on account of planting season.

Tammy,
I had a chrysler Lebaron that had the same problem. Come to find out it was the tensioner that was bad. Put a new one on, end of problem.

Has the alternator or another belt driven part been replaced? Count the grooves on all the pulleys and the ribs on the belt. They all have to match, 5 rib, 7 rib, etc.

Make sure the tensioner is not worn out and I use a laser to check the alignment of the pulleys.

Sometimes this is caused by worn out pullys you may need to replace some of them

When the belt comes off again, take a straight edge and check each pulley to make sure it runs true. The pump you are talking about is most likely the vacuum pump, the bearings in it may have failed causing it to have enough slop to turn out of line with the other pulleys, making that belt come off after a while. If it is turning funny like you said, you probably will have to replace it. I don't recall how complex one of those is, you most likely can change it yourself if you are skilled enough to put new belts on and have a few tools.
