We're needing a set of tires for the rear of our 7720. We have 13.6x26 tires with 12x26 wheels. We can't seem to find any 13.6 tires. Everyone trys to sell us 14.9x26 tires. I checked Firestones website and it said we need 13x26 rims for the 14.9 tires. Will it hurt to put 14.9 tires on a 12 inch wide rim?

Hi HM,

I've never been so dicussed in my life trying to buy front tires for my IH-706D. If I found rims, I couldn't find tires, If I found tires I couldn't find wheels.

This went on for 4 months now and I just found what I wanted at Gemplers. The second shock came when shipping was $20 for two tires, tubes and a couple misc items and they got here in less than a week.

The wheels I just happen to stumle onto local in a last ditch effort but Gemplers also carried them as well.

I don't know what happened to tractor tires but it sure changed here to where it's very hard to find anything in ag tires and when you do the price is a killer.

If you need clearance by belts and other things especially in muddy conditions you may want to stay with the 13.6 if you can find them otherwise the 14.9 may be all you can find. Did you try tiretown.com ?

Radials will improve the traction and fuel efficiency. I will only purchase bias plys for those tractors that have to run bias on the tractor pulling track due to the rules.

With a 26" wheel you need all the tire you can get. The 14.9 was made for the 12" width. Glenn F.
