thats the normal around this area except most are net wraps now. For your own use and if you can shed them the string is fine but for shipping and outside storage the net really makes a difference.

Most of the trees around here are either in swamps or sand hills that won't grow crops.

But his loader tractor is at least twice as big as yours ? Should wrestle them fine.

Don When I'm moving the bale is usually just barly off of the ground.

The loader is in the air for picture purposes only.

I rolled a skid steer once so the load is low when moving.
Thank God the skid steer had a roll cage or I might not be here now.

Do you remember the first Vermeer 706 balers, back in the early 70's? Those 7'x 6' bales were a real challange with most loader tractors at that time.

it wasn't anything at all to have a bermuda grass bale weighing 1500-1700 pounds each.....you just pull the TA back on the old 1086 tractor, let the center get started real good and tight and then push your TA up and watch it go!!! Oh and those same bales will burn for 3 days straight, too. Sure do miss the days of baling hay! Drawback of being a townie.....

Looking for a job? If you can run a 1086 and can bale I can put you to work.

Of course theres no money left on this farm for pay.

It could be your hobby like it is mine.

Farm I rented this spring has about 20 arces of creek pasture with bad fences that nobody is using.
So bring the cows along.
That way I won't have to mow it.

We use a 665 New Holland skid steer and have no problems handeling the silage bales . The only problem is while wrapen them with the 806 we have to hang iron on the ft. to hold it down while wrapen and setting them . Now if we were a rich farmer we would have one of them Cat skidsteers on tracks as i fell in love with them when i was haulen the new ones from the factory and had to unload at the dealers they don't bounce ya around as much and just love the two joy stick controls .
