Well, I'll be darned.

When I was stackin' hay I noticed that reverse was gettin' a little weak in the knees on my hydro after it got good and hot. Fact is, in Hi, and after a couple of hours, the darned thing didn't even wanna push the tote under a bale.

I've really been puttin' off fixin' it 'cause I knew the parts were so darned high priced.

But, I finally broke down, gave in and ordered the silly valve this morning. Guess what? The price was down from $240 to $137.50!

Those big regulator valves are still $395 apiece tho, so I didn't bother with buying any of them. If it 'taint broke, don't fix it, I always say! :>)

A lot of the fall in metal prices has to do with China's economy. It has been falling lately and they haven't been buying as much as they used to, weakening the world demand for metals. Hopefully this will keep up.

Hope it is'nt the NH bean counters finding there are just a couple boxs left and they want to clear them out so they can list them NLA as it seems to be happening with older IH parts at CNH latelly.

Your going to see a lot of this in the near future. A friend of mine who buys quantities of exotic metals (stainless, copper. inconel etc.) by the container, called me yesterday to have me hold off buying stainless tubing in any large quantities. Seems in the past week copper and nickle have dropped almost a dollar a pound, And further 'adjustments' are likely in the future. I suspect this sort of thing will be in the offing for a lot of stuff. people are not spending any money now unless they HAVE to. This is leaving a lot of 'expensive' (read as overpriced) stuff languishing on the shelf.

Ya really gotta wonder about this "hammer your buddy" stuff.

Poor ol' neighbor yesterday had to buy a tire for his baler. $250 for a simple 8 ply implement tire!

This kinda leads to the subject of fuel now. :>(

What the heck for tire size was it? was it for a big square baler or what? We just bought an 11L-15 for about $65. Now we gotta buy a 10.00-15 for a new spare tire for our chopper boxes.
