Moring all; Have an auction this Sunday with a "930 Case Comfort King standard diesel, dual hyd., 540 PTO, 18x4x34 tires" . So since I cannot seem to find a IH in my price range and size around here, thought I would look at this. Comments on good and bad points is what I would like.
Also in the ad is a IH "draw-bar mount 7 foot sickle mower" would this be belt drive, good for slopes and ditchs? Thanks guys, Bob

830-930 and 1030 some of the best tractors ever made. High torque/low rpm lugging power.Good on fuel, last forever if maintained. Low cost, but also low resale. Don't buy it to make profit.Buy it to use,you won't be sorry. This tractor is equivalant to a JD 4020 (90-95 hp) but will work rings around the 4020,simply because of the WWIIIIIDDDEEE torque and power band. HP max is at 1800 rpm on Case and 2200-2400 rpm on JD. At 1500 rpm I can assure you the Case is still making 80% of it's max HP and the JD is more like 60%. You will spend more time in the field at 1500 rpm than you will at 2200 rpm with any tractor.

Recently saw a nice Case 930 diesel with Case loader and Egging cab in fair condition bring $5600. It was a little rough with leaks and needing tires. Kind of went on the high end I thought.

730, 830, 930 all were good affordable tractors. I never figured out where they had the nerve to call them "Comfort King" though. Around here everybody that has a 30 series Case also has a can of ether in his hip pocket.

If its 8 speed--best tractor I ever owned. Relize it is many years old now and look for condition. They did not have the "hot" HP that some other tractors had, but they really liked to lug. If it does not have 3 point, that is a real negitive. Like all old tractors, look to make sure PS pump is OK. For some reason PS pumps are made out of gold. But so are injection pumps.
