OK here's the lowdown. Oliver 880 gas, narrow front, new front tires but one is one size smaller, rears 15.5's 50% weather cracked, but hold air. Did not see any oil leak spots on floor. Has (hydro boost?) TA. All sheet metal is good but is missing the right rear engine cover. Has original fenders, lights. No 3point. Live pto, 2 set hyd. Owners werent home when I went to see so I have to hear it run. Owner stated last night it runs starts very well, says Hydraulics were rebuilt about 2 years ago. Does not look like it has been used much recently but has been running, oil was NOT milky, but needs a change and smells gassy, Notined new gasket in carb bowl so I am guessing it had been flooding out. Owners are asking $1600, I was gonna offer $1400 IF it runs as nice as they say when I go to get it (30 miles) Some one please let me know if this is a decent purchase. What can ya get these days for $1600 any way letely not much

Dave,
I have an 880 gas and I like it real well. It has the Helical transmission. It doesn"t have the Power Booster. In some ways it can become a headache when they start having problems on the boosters.
If it runs good and transmission is good and don"t have to put a ton of $$$ in it, it should be worth around $1200 to $1600.
There a good work horse and fairly easy to work on. I know mine loves fuel when its worked hard but I has two sizes to big of a carburetor on it.

Depends on what you're going to do with it the more you run a gasser these days the more you wish you had bought a diesel.I'd guess that 880 would put 3gal/hr away pretty easily judging from the couple I had.I use a 1650 Oliver diesel to bale with that I gave $3000 for and it uses 1gal/hr off road diesel is cheaper than gas so there is going to be a $6/hr difference in fuel operating costs anyway so in about 250hrs operating time we're at the same money and I have a much better tractor that is going to keep running cheaper than yours.

880 is a 61HP tractor and also a pretty good old tractor. $1600 isn't all that bad if not a little low if it runs good and the tires are fair and the sheet metal is good. If it runs good it will pull more like a 75HP tractor then a 61 HP one. So if you can talk them down to $1500 you will have a good tractor. Hyds as far as rebuilt you can't see if they where or wheren't because they are in the belly of the tractor

The Hi-low is not a hydro-power,it is a dry clutch unit. I have a 770 with one. From what you describe youre in the ballpark for price. You arent offering too much less, maybe they'll split the difference.
