Hi all,

Friday, 9-8-06, my dad"s Ford 961 got some new decals to go with the new paint we recently put on her. She"s starting to look pretty good.

I replaced the bulb on the worklight and, while I was there, added a booted switch at the base of the housing so I didn't have to use the banana plug as one. Also added plastic washers so it can be gimbaled easier.

The lawn tractor did the work - mowing around the house.

I disked up a field where there is going to be a new sub division. Hate to see good farmland going to houses but that is where is money is right now.

Mine just sat there in the drizzle.
But,
it was joined last night by a parts tractor of the same make and model (Ford 3000) so it is probably impatiently waiting for the new/used power steering and nearly new rear tires it is going to get.

My three JD are hard at work showing off at the local fall fair for two days. Two will get driven home about 3 miles and the other (MC) will get trailered.

Hooked her up to the mower and clipped the pastures. If I get the time, she'll get hooked to the bush hog and make one trip around the outside of the fences today.

Mine was kind enough to just sit quietly and not skin my knuckles up too badly while I twisted wrenches on her.

Well, our 1855 sat on the front of the chopper today while I fixed a loose bearing mount on it. The 165 put out a few bales of hay and the 1600 and 285 just sat, just waiting for the chopper to be ready tomorrow.

Worked on building new corals for the cattle this winter. 686 IH on the posthole digger, 830 Case hauling the railroad ties to use as posts on the rear tines, and also used the Case to haul out bales of hay to the cattle, one on the loader and one on the rear tines.

Took the IH330 and bushogged around a hayfield that didn't get cut, going to string some polywire and turn the neighbor's cattle into it. This afternoon I bushogged a lot for some summer people, got almost finished and the sky opened up, buckets of rain, hail, thunder and lightning. I was pretty well drowned by the time I got home. Got dried off and took a nap, woke up and the power was off, it just came back about half a hour ago.

I mowed the roads and around the pasture edges with the mf135. Took the 1085 and started discing for my rye and turnip greens. Tomorrow I'm going to push broken limbs around with the 966. Since fuel has gotten cheaper and the weather cooler its time to getter done.

I put the Super M on an 11' disk and chewed up the cornstalks in my sweet corn patch - roughly one acre. I had fun, and the old tractor did also!

Mine did not do anything. Of course,I dont even have a tractor anymoe. Is your 11 ft. disk a tandem wheel disk? If it is,what gear do you use? We had an 11 ft. disk and a SM and I think we used 3rd gear.
