I have found that break locator to be useless...so much interference, static, etc. I was usually successful in finding the break in my fence by carefully walking the line looking for disturbance to the surface. I say "was" as about three years ago on Thanksgiving day, my line broke. I could not find the problem anywhere. I got fed up with that light wire you could cut with your fingernail(18 guage I believe), and installed #10 covered copper wire in plastic conduit; all 2 acres. I have not had any trouble since. What a wonderful system! A person can take a wire and keep jumping accross till you find the bad spot, but that's a lot of monkey buisness.
