I've seen pictures of one ton fords with either the ext cab or crew cabs with shortboxes that had duals. At first I thought these were custom jobs but I've seen a few of them running around central Iowa and was wondering if anyone else has seen these trucks. I know dodge has a shortbed with duals but that's becuz they don't have a chassis long enough for both the mega cab and an 8 ft box at this time. I would think if you had duals having a long box also would help make the trucks more stable, or at least ride little smoother.

Whole lots of folks buying dualies don't even need a truck. Ford has had the short bed available for ext cab an crew cab 1 tons an 3/4 ton trucks for a few years now. A long bed crew cab does get a mite long at the shopping mall parking lot. An them ext cab short beds look real sporty.
A long bed does ride smoother but most folks would rather be bounced around in STYLE.

Yeah, Ford has offered that option for a number of years- you just don"t see many of them. First one I saw was in "00 just after I bought my new dually. If I were ordering a new truck today, I"m not sure which way I would go. I think they look great.
