Eric,

I had a similar problem with my 2424. Turned out to be a small chunk of something, maybe golden rod stem, that kept getting sucked into the outlet in the fuel tank. I think I figured it out by removing the sediment bowl and discovering that fuel would only drip from the stem on the bottom of the tank. Got it out somehow - can't remember now. It was years ago.

good luck!

As soon as it dies check for spark. If you don't have spark its probably a bad condenser or ignition switch. If you have spark then check gas flow by takeing out the carb drain plug. If you don't have a steady flow of gas then you problbly have a clogged fuel system or carb problems

Are you sure the problem is electrical? Could be fuel related. Try removing the fuel tank cap. If that doesn't do it, check out any filters that may be in the gas line.

tried removing gas cap. did not work.

globe stays full at all times and is full when tractor quits.

no filters anywhere. (might need to add one).

when it does die it will not start for a couple of hours.

I'll look into the fuel system.

maybe check the gas globe when it dies to make sure the fuel pump is working.

It could be downstream of the fuel pump....
