I just thought I would show everybody what looks like a scam to me. It comes from tessy_jane800@yahoo.com. in response to an ad I have in for a 19Mack. Hello Thank you for getting back to me in respect to this item...i will so much appreciate it if you can witheld this item for me and take it off the lists. I am ready to make the payment as soon as possible but the following information is highly required in respect with making the payment of this item... your full names, address, city, zip code, phone number and your asking price excluding shipping because my personal shipper will be coming for the pick up as soon as the payment is settled. The payment will however come in excess but all you have to do is to deduct your asking price and help me in sending the excess of it to the shipper that will be coming for the pick up. Morealso i will like to hear from you if you will prefer the payment through.... money order, personal check or online check within two days, though the online payment required you to have a color printer and get a paper check for the printing. Please get back to me. Thank you and God Bless. Tessy

The best response to the scam artist is C.O.D. When they deliver Cash they get item for sale .

Of course it'scam as you well know. Why would you waste so much of your time even responding to it and then even posting it here? Do you think that maybe your response deters these characters? Of course not, save us all some time and simply delete the response and get on with life buddy. Haven't you got an old tractor to work on or something?

Sorry Buddy, I apologize and was being a bit of a jerk (or maybe worse than just a bit of one). Yup, just delete that crap, best way to deal with it. Once again, sorry for my bad manners.

Not interested in the tractor - only in what you are willing to send the shipper and do it quick before the check/money/order bounces. I find the notion that you might even get to print the bad check hilarious.

Run, do not pass go, do not collect $200.00.

Classic SCAM, SCAM.

I would say, sure you can have the item after you pay CASH only Then you can haul away said item. My experience is CASH only for any item, except houses, I wouldnt even except a cashiers check from anybody anymore for anything unless you know that person ahead of time, like a close relative. There are thiefs all over, just dont be a victim.

Yeah, could be. I"d say, if the prospective buyer is too lazy/cheap to make 2 separate payments, he"s not worth your time. The net effect of what would happen here, assuming he"s gonna send you a forged payment, is that you give away your tractor AND pay his shipper to deliver it to him! To say nothing about the headaches with your bank!

The good news on these scams is that you won't lose your tractor- they have absolutely no interest in the tractor, and there is no "shipper"- just the buyer's co-conspirator that you send the money to.

Last onr I heard of they were sending a check for ovr the amt. of purchase. Would you please send the overage to his shipper. The bank cashed the check for him and he sent the money back to the purchaser. A week later thebank said the check didn't clear and he was respnsible. He made that extra 5-600.00 and he never heard from him again. Best thing to do is have the cash for the item your selling in hand, and then release it. bye
