Friend of mine has this truck; he says the clutch is starting to slip; he thinks there's a way to adjust it so he can get a little more service from it. I've no idea myself, but I thought someone on here would know.

Any suggestions are appreciated; thank you for your time.

Anthony

Anthony; yes their is adjustment, one to hold the clutch pedal down and one to adjust the clutch underneath, any good shop should be able to do this in about a half hour or less that is if he doesn't need a new clutch AND pressure plate, figure at least 1 day, have to R and R the transmission, no problem B.T.D.T Ken

Anthony,
There should be 1/2 inch between the clutch brake and throw out bearing on the pull type clutch and 1/8 of an inch clearence between the fork and throw out bearing (this is the "toe play"), if the clutch is a Spicer then hold the clutch pedal down to the floor while another person adjusts the adjusting bolt on the clutch plate (you have to push in on the bolt head to turn it). When your done adjusting make sure the bolt heads pops out and locks into place. If the truck has a Solo self adjusting clutch then tighten the clutch linkage so there is no "toe play" then step down on the clutch pedal times till the clutch self adjusts and gives the proper clearence.
