Are there collectors that collect tractors and keep them in good original condition? The painted ones are nice but some are in such nice original shape, it would be hard for me to paint them!

If I knew how to post pictures, I`d post a picture of our R moline. My grandpa bought it new in 51. It`s all original, certainly not a show stopper, but she runs like a top. Now it just rakes a little hay, and pulls hay racks around the yard. It seems so small, but was my grandpas main tractor for many years, til he bought an old A JD, then a 5 star. Personally, I love seeing original tractors, just seems like they have a story to tell.
Gotta give credit to the guys who put many hours into restoring one to showroom condition though.
I guess it`s one of those preferance things.

About a year ago I bought a 1951 Chevy ton and a half grain truck with the short box and Omaha Standard grain/cattle rack. It only had 51k actual miles on it and was in the best origional condition of anything I had gotten my hands on. It would have been a crime to "restore" it as it was such good shape. I did have to resell it though when finances got a little tight..

I have one a JD530 that I plan to keep original. It is in very good shape. Hard to find them like this in Ohio. Now with the internet I see alot of nice original stuff from out west. I wish I'd had more of that stuff instead of pouring all the money into the local tractors that I redid.

This is my 1961 Fordson Super Major. Owned by a small arable farmer - owner driven - never been near a cow ! Never had cab nor safety frame fitted, totally original except he had fitted the rear wheels off his Ford 4000 which didnt get swopped back at the farm sale - drat !
Everything works perfectly except rear lights, it only needs the front axle kingpin bushes replaced to make it drive nice.
Far too good original condition to repaint.
Cheers David

My Father-in-law has an Oliver Super 77 in nice original condition that I've urged him to keep that way. If I ever happen to get a hold of it, it will stay that way, too...
