Does anyone know the size of chain that goes to the wide spread beater on a david bradley manure spreader?

Sorry I can't help you but I sure am surprised that there are any of them still around. When I was 8-10 years old every Sat. was my Job to clean the Calf pens by Pitch Fork into our Ground Drive 'David Bradley Manure Spreader". Dad bought it at the Montgomery Wards Farm Store or maybe it was the Sears Store. Don't remember. I do remember him towing it Home behind our 1932 Chevrolet Truck tho. Drove real slow and a lot of Horn honking by others. Road Rage was rampant in those days also.Probably around 1946-48. John

That would have been a Sears Farm Store.Sears closed them all down sometime in the sixties.Sears/David Bradley had some nice products back then.Sears sold a lot of wagon gears in those days.I still have a good 1947 David Bradley hay rake.Used it this summer as a matter of fact.Last thing I bought from the Farm Store was some cattle fence in about 1965.

"M" some more Trivia about our "David Bradley Manure Spreader" When we loaded it by hand most of the time it was taken to the field and unloadeD because we were near "tuckered out" so it probably was loaded at recommended capacity,However shortly after Dad bought the Spreader he got real "Enterprising "probably because his Fishing Buddy was also the Ford Tractor Dealer and bought a 8N ford with a Mounted Hand Trip Dearborn Loader.Well about the 10th Load on the David Bradley it broke in half . Every Load he kept piling on more and the lower to the ground it got the heavier the Manure became. Well he went and got a New Idea Spreader that lasted at least till 1955 when I left Home for other endeavers.John
